Dental Veneers

October 20, 2017

Do you want to improve the appearance of your front teeth? Then dental veneers could be your answer! Veneers are commonly used to improve the appearance of front teeth and are a more conservative option than getting full dental crowns. Dental veneers can help with staining, large gaps, large fillings, chipped teeth and overall shape. They are a thin covering over the front and biting end of the tooth, that restores the beauty of a smile. At Wells Family Dentistry, we have helped many patients over the years who wanted to have confidence in their smile again.

Dental veneers are made in a lab from long-lasting porcelain materials. They are placed on anterior, or front teeth, where the force from chewing is more sensitive. You can also chose the shade of color you’d like your veneers to be.

Placing veneers can be done in two dental appointments. Sometimes, they are able to be placed after one appointment depending on fabrication process.

During your first appointment we will “prep” your teeth and take an impression of them that will be sent to our lab to fabricate your custom veneers. Preparing to insert the veneers requires just a small amount of space to be created on the face (front), bottom and sides of each tooth that allows space for us to place the veneer and have it look natural. You will then leave the office with temporary veneers for a week or two, while we wait for your permanent veneers to be made!

During your second appointment, we will place your permanent veneers and make any minor adjustments if they are needed.

What a difference it makes in the appearance of your teeth!
